Shimizuoto is a light, smooth usucha with no bitterness. Sweet, mellow, and well balanced, with soft toasty notes and a creamy, buttery finish. Subtle hazelnut-like aroma comes through nicely.
“Shimizuoto” (清水音) translates to the sound of spring water, reflecting a clean and calming profile.
Produced by Maruyasu, a tea maker established in 1872. The current head, Yasushi Maeno, holds the “chashi kyudo” title, one of the highest certifications in Japanese tea.
